Celebrate Gungahlin Festival Returns: A Vibrant Showcase of Culture and Community

Get ready to experience the spirit of Gungahlin at the much-anticipated Celebrate Gungahlin Festival, returning on October 26th! This vibrant event will bring together the heart and soul of the Gungahlin community, featuring live music and dance performances, bustling market stalls, mouthwatering food, and engaging artist activations.

As part of the festival, Belconnen Arts is inviting young artists to participate in a special community exhibition. This is a unique opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and share their perspectives on Gungahlin’s past, present, and future. The exhibition will be displayed in Centre near Kmart, highlighting the voices and visions of Gungahlin’s young population.

Gungahlin is home to the youngest population in the ACT, with more children and young people than any other region. This exhibition seeks to capture their unique viewpoints and celebrate the diverse experiences of those who live, work, or study in the area.

If you’re 18 years old or younger and have a connection to Gungahlin, you’re encouraged to submit your artwork. The theme, “Our Town,” invites you to explore what you love about where you live and your hopes for Gungahlin’s future. Let your creativity shine in any two-dimensional medium, with your artwork presented in a square format.

The exhibition will be on display throughout October, and there’s more than just recognition up for grabs—there’s also a $500 cash prize for the People’s Choice Award!
