Throwing a birthday soiree for your little one can be a daunting experience. Let’s face it – you’re already busy enough without adding “party planning” to your to-do list. 

That’s why we’ve come to the rescue and put together an easy-peasy birthday planner with all products available under the one roof – right here at Marketplace Gungahlin. We’ve thought of everything (so you don’t have to) from games and decorations to food and goody bags – we’ve got you covered.

All you need to do is jump in the car, head to Marketplace and as fast as you can say “fairy bread”, you’ll have absolutely everything you need to pull off the b’day party of the year!

SPREAD THE WORD

Email invites can be super convenient but being digital, it’s harder to give the little ones a chance to be part of the process.

Rather than email invites we suggest you pick a pack of paper invitations from Kmart or Big W instead – then your little one can help you sign, seal and deliver! Cute!

 LOCK IN CATERING

Save yourself the hassle of cooking (and washing up!) and order some catering plaltters from Subway! Pick a cookie or sub platter, jam packed with freshly baked subs and cookies that honestly taste as good as they smell.

PLAN GAMES AND ENTERTAINMENT

As far as party games go, piñatas are a classic – not only do kids love them, the grown-ups can join in too (if you can pry the stick away from the kids). Shop the extensive range of bright and fun piñatas including unicorns, rainbows and dinosaurs at Homebase.

Or why not go old-school and grab a mix of board games to set up a game station? BookFace and EB Games have a great mix of kid-friendly board and party games to get the party started!  If you decide to include a games station at your party, we recommend a personal favourite – Pie Face Showdown, available at Big W. Pie Face Showdown is a messy but extremely fun game that involves battling it out to not get “creamed”.  It will have the kids sitting on the edge of their seats (literally).

DECORATE WITH NO LIMITS

A party isn’t complete without boundless helium balloons, bright streamers and noisy party poppers!

To set the scene of your shindig we suggest you head to the Big W Party section. Here you will find an array of decorations and themed homewares. We think everything you could ever need can be found at the Big W Party section – including these awesome coloured pompoms that add a spark of colour to a plain wall.

To create the set-up pictured here, we also added multiple helium balloons from our friends at Homebase – they stock an outrageous collection of colourful and themed balloons that will have the kids in awe.

SUGAR FIX

Create your own Lolly Buffet using glass jars from Kmart, filling them with lollies of your choice in colours which represent your party theme, and organising some take home containers for your mini and not so mini guests.

It really is as easy as 1, 2 and 3.

LET THEM EAT CAKE

What’s better than gelato and cake? A cake made of gelato!
