St.George Bank is one of Australia’s leading Retail and Business Banking brands, serving over 2.6 million consumer, business and corporate customers in Australia. In 2008, St.George and its South Australian brand, BankSA, became part of the Westpac Group.
With more than 5700 staff and 396 St.George and BankSA retail branches, St.George is known for exceptional service, innovative, award-winning products, and specialist financial advice for retail and business customers.
St.George has built its reputation on strong connections with local communities. A deepening understanding of sustainability means they’re extending this commitment to a broader range of stakeholders and interests.
With nearly 400 branches throughout Australia, St.George is well placed to support communities at a local and national level. Over the years, they’ve been inspired to see the difference they can make through charity fundraising and sponsorship of sporting and cultural events. In addition, St.George employees in Australia are entitled to at least one day’s paid leave a year to volunteer for charities, community, environmental and community sporting organisations, and schools.
A number of their programs are well entrenched in local communities and have been supported by St.George for many years. But the centrepiece of this newly developed sustainability approach is ‘responsible banking’. By promoting programs that help achieve financial wellbeing, they hope to facilitate better social outcomes.
Consumer activities are conducted through a network of 396 St.George and BankSA branches, third party distributors, call centres, 3000 ATMs, EFTPOS terminals and internet banking services.
Business and corporate customers are offered a wide range of banking and financial products and services, including specialist advice for Cash Flow Finance, Trade Finance, Automotive and Equipment Finance, Property Finance, Transaction Banking and Treasury Services. Relationship Managers conduct sales and service activities for business and corporate customers via 28 business banking centres, internet and telephone banking channels.
